Memory transfer of the story of Thérèse Pierre

A memorial plaque bearing the name of Thérèse Pierre is a affixed at the entrance of the upper elementary school of Fougères. The college of the town now bears his name. In 2013, for the seventieth anniversary of her assassination, a commemorative plaque was placed on the facade of the house she lived in.

In the Marne, a commemorative plaque has been affixed to the Normal School for girls in Châlons-sur-Marne (today Châlons-en-Champagne). In 2007, a new plaque was inaugurated in the hall of this school that became Higher School of Teaching and Education (it replaces the previous plaque disappeared).

Thérèse’s name is also inscribed on the plaque “masters of the secular school” kept in the Square of the victims of the Gestapo in Reims and on the list of internees of the Monument to the martyrs of the Resistance of Epernay.

But it will be necessary to wait until 2007 and the documentary « Où sont nos amoureuses » of Robin Hunzinger to find a way to told the story of Therese no longer in a heterocentric way.

Claudie Hunzinger‘s book « Elles vivaient d’espoir », published in 2010 at Grasset, also contributed to make the story of Thérèse and Emma known.

In 2015, Queer Code via its website also helped to promote Thérèse Pierre.
