A participative, digital and feminist European project of Queer Code.
In order to make known the life courses of deported and persecuted women who have loved women, whatever their nationality, whatever the status of deportees that the Nazi regime has attributed to them, we propose a global project combining digital, artistic and participative installations, historical and feminist collaborative research.
This artistic and civic approach is part of a contemporary era of large population displacements seeking to flee wars, famines, dangerous climatic situations, resurgence of extreme populist right in Europe and around the world as well as the surge of LGBTphobia… This approach echoes the project to create a monument dedicated to the memory of European lesbians deported to the Ravensbrück camp.
The reference to constellations is multiple: maps of the sky to locate, understand and be located in space and the poems of Grisélidis Real…
This project showcases the resources of the German, Dutch and French archives centers. It helps to create a link between LGBT and feminist associations, historians, memorials and archives.
Our first card is dedicated to the route of the French Resistant Therese Pierre and the second to the women presented on the QueerCode website. We add to this second map the representation of courses not yet discovered and those impossible to find. These cards also value resources shared via WIKIPEDIA, to which we contribute.
The next digital maps will be deployed as collaborations and interactive projects are implemented.
